CPIE Diploma

The Child Protection Working Group along with Save the Children, UNICEF and the University of Kwazulu-Natal are proud to announce the call for applications for the Child Protection in Emergencies Post Graduate Diploma. Click on the banner below to find more information on the application process. REMINDER: Application is open for two weeks and the deadline is 31 August 2014.


The Advanced Diploma will be a part-time 1.5-year distance-learning programme for staff working in emergencies or wanting to work in emergencies on child protection. It will provide students with a rigorous academic programme combined with real-world skills in child protection in emergency programming, combining a residential component, with distance learning and a practice-orientated placement or assignment to apply the learning in either emergency preparedness or response.

The content of the course will be broadly consistent with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, supplemented by key topics such as humanitarian competencies (including project management and working with others) and understanding and working with children.
